Maaveeran Movie Review in Tamil (மாவீரன் திரை விமர்சனம்): மடோன் அஸ்வின் இயக்கத்தில் சிவகார்த்திகேயன் நடித்துள்ள மாவீரன் திரைப்படம் இன்று வெளியாகியுள்ளது. இப்படத்தின் முழுமையான விமர்சனம் இதோ.

Rating: 3.5/5 நடிகர்கள்: சிவகார்த்திகேயன், அதிதி சங்கர், யோகி பாபு, மிஷ்கின், சரிதா, சுனில் இயக்கம்: மடோன் அஸ்வின் இசை: பரத் சங்கர் தயாரிப்பு: அருண் விஸ்வா ரன்னிங் டைம்: 2 மணி நேரம் 25 நிமிடம் சென்னை: சிவகார்த்திகேயன், அதிதி ஷங்கர், யோகி பாபு, மிஷ்கின் உள்ளிட்டோர் நடித்துள்ள 'மாவீரன்' இன்று வெளியானது.

மடோன் அஸ்வின் இயக்கியுள்ள இந்தப் படம் தமிழ், தெலுங்கு மொழிகளில் வெளியாகியுள்ளது. மாவீரனுக்காக விஜய்சேதுபதி வாய்ஸ் ஓவர் கொடுத்துள்ளதும் படத்தின் மீதான எதிர்பார்ப்பை அதிகப்படுத்தியிருந்தது. இந்நிலையில், மாவீரன் திரைப்படம் சிவகார்த்திகேயனுக்கு கம்பேக் கொடுத்துள்ளதா என்பதை இப்போது பார்க்கலாம்.

சிவகார்த்திகேயனின் மாவீரன் விமர்சனம்:மக்களுக்காக மாவீரனாக மாறும் ஒரு கோழை ஹீரோவின் கதை தான் மாவீரன். தமிழ் சினிமாவில் ஏற்கனவே பார்த்து பழகிய இந்த ஒருவரிக் கதையை, வித்தியாசப்படுத்தி ரசிகர்களுக்கு விருந்து படைத்துள்ளது சிவகார்த்திகேயன் - மடோன் அஸ்வின் காம்போ. சீரியஸ்ஸான சமூகப் பிரச்சினை, அதன் பின்னணியில் இருக்கும் அரசியல், இந்த இரண்டையும் காமெடி ப்ளஸ் ஆக்‌ஷனுடன் பக்கா கமர்சியல் காக்டெய்லாக கலந்துக்கட்டி உருவாகியுள்ளது மாவீரன். திறமையான காமிக்ஸ் ஆர்ட்டிஸ்ட் சத்யா என்ற கேரக்டரில் சிவகார்த்திகேயன், மாவீரனின் கதைகளை காமிக்ஸ் ஸ்டோரியாக கிரியேட் செய்து, சீனியர் ஜார்னலிஸ்ட் ஒருவரிடம் கொடுத்து வாய்ப்புத் தேடுகிறார். ஆனால், அவரோ அதில் சிவகார்த்திகேயனின் பெயருக்குப் பதிலாக தனது பெயரைப் போட்டுக்கொண்டு ஏமாற்றி வருகிறார். இதனை தெரிந்துகொண்ட நாயகி நிலா (அதிதி ஷங்கர்) சிவகார்த்திகேயனுக்கு உதவி செய்து அதே பத்திரிகை அலுவலகத்தில் அவருக்கு வேலை வாங்கிக் கொடுக்கிறார்.

இன்னொருபக்கம் நதிக்கரையில் வாழும் மக்கள் அனைவரும் குடிசை மாற்று வாரியத்தால் கட்டப்பட்ட புதிய குடியிருப்புக்கு மாற்றப்படுகின்றனர். அதில் ஹீரோ சிவகார்த்திகேயனின் குடும்பமும் ஒன்று. ஆனால், அடிப்படை வசதிகள் கூட இல்லாத அந்தக் குடியிருப்பில் வசிக்க முடியாமல் மக்கள் அனைவரும் பல பிரச்சினைகளை சந்திக்கின்றனர். இதையெல்லாம் தட்டிக் கேட்காமல் அட்ஜெஸ்ட் செய்து வாழ்ந்துவிடலாம் என கோழையாக ஓடி ஒளிகிறார் சிவகார்த்திகேயன்.

ஒருகட்டத்தில் கோழை ஹீரோ, மாவீரனாக மாறுவதும், அதன் பின்னர் வில்லனையும் அவனது ஆட்களையும் புரட்டி எடுப்பதும் எப்படி என விவரிக்கிறது திரைக்கதை. மக்களுக்காக போராடி தனது உயிரைகொடுத்த அப்பா போல் தானும் ஆகிவிடக் கூடாது என அஞ்சி நடுங்கும் சிவகார்த்திகேயன், இறுதியில் தனது உயிரே போனாலும் பரவாயில்லை என துணிந்து நிற்கிறார். இதற்கெல்லாம் காரணம் அவருக்கு மட்டுமே கேட்கும் ஒரு மாயக் குரல். 'வீரமே ஜெயம்' என்ற இந்த ஒற்றை வரியோடு நின்றுவிடாமல், படம் முழுக்க சிவகார்த்திகேயனை துரத்தும் அந்த குரல் தான் நிஜமான மாவீரன். அரசியல் அதிகாரத்தால் எளிய மக்களின் வாழ்வாதாரம் எப்படி பந்தாடப்படுகிறது என்ற அட்டாகசமான பின்னணியை கையில் எடுத்த இயக்குநர், அதுகுறித்து முழுமையாக பேசாமல் படத்தை ஹீரோ மெட்டீரியலாக மாற்றிவிட்டார். படம் தொடங்கியது முதலே சரியாக நூல்பிடித்ததைப் போல கச்சிதமாக நகர்கிறது திரைக்கதை. குறிப்பாக இன்டர்வெல் பிளாக் சிவகார்த்திகேயனுக்கு செம்ம மாஸ் கொடுத்துள்ளது. ஆனால், இந்த ஃபயர் இரண்டாம் பாதியில் எடுபடாமல் போனது துரதிர்ஷ்டம். கோழையாக எல்லாவற்றுக்கும் அஞ்சி நடுங்கும் சிவகார்த்திகேயன், குரல் கேட்டதும் மேலே பார்க்கிறார், அடுத்த நொடியே ஆக்‌ஷனில் அதகளம் செய்கிறார். தனது அப்பாவித்தனமான முகத்தை வைத்துக்கொண்டு, திடீரென ஆக்‌ஷன் ஹீரோவாக மிரட்டுவதில் அதிரிபுதிரியான ட்ரான்ஸ்ஃபர்மேஷன் எனலாம். 

டான், பிரின்ஸ் போன்ற படங்களில் மொக்கையான கேரக்டரில் நடித்து பல்பு வாங்கிய சிவகார்த்திகேயனுக்கு, மாவீரன் சத்யா ரோல் லைஃப் டைம் செட்டில்மெண்ட். அம்மாவிடம் பாசத்தில் குழைவது, யோகி பாபுவுடன் காமெடியில் அதகளம் செய்வது, மிஷ்கின், சுனில் ஆகியோரிடம் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு உயிருக்குப் பயந்து கெஞ்சுவது என தரமாக கம்பேக் கொடுத்துள்ளார். ஆரம்பத்தில் தனி காமெடி ட்ராக்கில் கதையுள்ளே வரும் யோகிபாபு, அதன்பின் சிவாவுடன் சேர்ந்து தனது அக்மார்க் காமெடியை அளவில்லாமல் கொடுத்துள்ளார். சிவகார்த்திகேயன் - யோகிபாபு காமெடி தான் முதல் பாதியின் மிகப் பெரிய பலம். ஆனால், இரண்டாம் பாதியில் இது சுத்தமாக எடுபடவில்லை. வழக்கம்போல ஹீரோவுக்கு பூஸ்ட் அப் கொடுக்கும் பார்த்துப் பழகிய நாயகியாக அதிதி ஷங்கர். அடிக்கடி வந்து "உன்னால முடியும் பாஸ்கர்" என்பதாக ஹீரோவுக்கு வெறியேத்திவிட்டு ஆள் காணாமல் போய்விடுகிறார். ஜெயக்கொடி என்ற வில்லன் கேரக்டரில் மிஷ்கின் மிரட்டுகிறார் என்றால், சைலண்டாக வந்து அவருக்கே டஃப் கொடுக்கிறார் 'புஷ்பா' சுனில். இவர்கள் தவிர பாசமான அம்மாவாக சரிதா, ஜூனியர் வில்லனாக 'அயலி' மதன் ஆகியோர் கவனம் ஈர்க்கின்றனர்.

மாவீரன் படத்தின் இன்னொரு பெரிய ப்ளஸ், பரத் சங்கரின் பின்னணி இசை. காமெடி, சென்டிமெண்ட், ஆக்‌ஷன் என ஒவ்வொரு காட்சிக்கும் வெரைட்டியாக BGM போட்டு கூஸ்பம்ப் நிகழ்த்துகிறார். சீன் ஆ சீன் ஆ, வண்ணாரப்பேட்டை பாடல்கள் கேட்க இதமாக இருந்தாலும், படத்துடன் ஒட்டவேயில்லை. விது அய்யனாவின் ஒளிப்பதிவு, பிலோமின் ராஜ்ஜின் எடிட்டிங் மாவீரனுக்கு இன்னொரு பெரிய பலம். இயக்குநர் மடோன் அஸ்வினின் முதல் படமான மண்டேலாவில் வசனங்கள் கவனம் ஈர்த்த அளவிற்கு, மாவீரன் பட வசனங்கள் ஸ்ருதி சேர்க்கவில்லை. இவர்களுக்கு சவால் விடுகிறார் வாய்ஸ் ஓவர் விஜய் சேதுபதி. திரையில் வராமல் வாய்ஸ் ஓவரிலேயே மாவீரன் படத்தை பாதி சுமந்துள்ளார் என்றால் அது மிகையில்லை. க்ளைமேக்ஸ் காட்சியில் சிவகார்த்திகேயனுக்கு ஹீரோயிசம் தேவை என சில தேவையில்லாத காட்சிகளை வைத்து நோகடித்துவிட்டார் இயக்குநர். அதுவும் கூட பல படங்களில் பார்த்துப் பழகிய அதே மொக்கத்தனமாக க்ளைமாக்ஸ் தான். கடைசியாக மாவீரன் மீண்டும் வரலாம், அதாவது இப்படத்தின் இரண்டாம் பாகம் உருவாகலாம் என சின்னதாக லீட் கொடுத்து முடித்துள்ளார் இயக்குநர். ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக ரஜினியின் ஜெயிலர் வெளியாகும் வரை, சிவகார்த்திகேயனின் மாவீரன் தான் வசூலில் மன்னன் என உறுதியாகக் கூறலாம். முதல் வாரம் நல்ல ஓப்பனிங் கிடைத்துவிட்டால், சிவகார்த்திகேயனின் கேரியரில் இன்னொரு 100 கோடி பாக்ஸ் ஆபிஸ் ஹிட் கன்ஃபார்ம்.

Plot Overview: 

The film begins with a humorous voice-over, highlighting the distinctive traits of 2K kids compared to those from the '80s and '90s. We are quickly introduced to two different school gangs—one from a boys' higher secondary school and the other from a co-ed school. These schools share the same management and are located adjacent to each other, separated only by a compound wall. As a result of a decision by the management, the two gangs are merged, causing chaos and conflicts. Ayaz leads one group, while NP and Nila (played by Ammu Abirami) lead the other. To address the escalating tensions, the management keeps them occupied with science exhibitions, elections, and cultural activities.

Progressing through the story, the students not only learn to coexist but also discover the value of life itself.

Evaluation:

Rajmohan's direction shines in the first half, reminiscent of the enjoyable episodes of the popular TV show Kanaa Kaanum Kaalangal. Vigneshkanth's witty one-liners and monologues about last-bench students bring laughter, while other lighthearted moments contribute to the film's enjoyable first half. However, the film takes a significant tonal shift in the second half, delving into sensitive topics such as student suicide tendencies and a real-life incident involving the controversial death of a girl student in a private school hostel. While the film's exploration of these themes is commendable, the characters struggling with suicidal tendencies lack proper development, preventing genuine empathy from the audience.

The performances of Ayaz, NP, and Ammu Abirami are decent, holding the viewer's attention. Notably, the staging of certain sequences in the pre-climax portion is intriguing, and the decision to portray a character with suicidal intentions as a joker is commendable. The film also includes entertaining moments, including the end credits, where the director playfully takes a jab at public reviews, leaving the audience with one final laugh.

Conclusion: 

Baba Black Sheep is a film worth watching, particularly for 2K kids longing to revisit their school days. Although it falls short in delivering emotional depth, the movie offers fun and heartwarming moments that will resonate with nostalgic viewers.

Nattamai (transl. Village Chief) is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. It starred Sarathkumar, Meena and Khushbu. The film was released on 2 November 1994, during Diwali, and completed a 175-day run at the box office. It is considered to be one of the most popular Tamil films of the 1990s and in general. It became a trendsetter for many films in later years. The Goundamani-Senthil comic duo was one of the most popular aspects of the film.

Plot

Shanmugam (Sarathkumar) is the village head, fondly called Nattamai in his village in Coimbatore. He sits on the ancestral throne in his village to do justice. He hears all the cases and gives solutions to the people and punishments to the wrongdoers. His wife Lakshmi (Khushbu) admires and respects him. His brothers Pasupathi (Sarathkumar) and Selvaraj (Raja Ravindra) fear him but also have a lot of respect for him as he has brought them up as his children. Pasupathi marries Meena (Meena), the daughter of an industrialist (Vinu Chakravarthy). She dislikes Shanmugam Nattamai because of his verdicts and attitude and her husband for being so timid with his brother but later transforms after learning of the former's greatness from her father. Selvaraj loves his paternal cousin, who is his paternal aunt (Manorama) granddaughter Kanmani (Sanghavi).

In the flashback, Periya Nattamai (Vijayakumar), Shanmugam Nattamai's, Pasupathi, and Selvaraj's father, orders Manorama's son (and Kanmani's father) (Ponnambalam) to marry his servant's daughter whom he raped. Manorama (who is Periya Nattamai's brother) begs him to forgive her son, however, he asks her to not interfere with his judgments. His brother-in-law, (Ponnambalam's father and Manorama husband (Erode Soundar), shoots him as he is disappointed by his verdict. Enraged, Periya Nattamai gives his final judgment before dying. He expellees Ponnambalam's family from the village and makes Shanmugam the new Nattamai, before dying.

Years later, Ponnambalam's father dies. Ponnambalam builds envy on his uncle's family and waits for an opportunity to take revenge on them. He hires a woman as the village school teacher and asks her to make Pasupathi fall for her. She does so to save her father, who is in the hands of Ponnambalam. He kills her and makes the villagers believe that Pasupathi has committed the murder. Shanmugam Nattamai sentences ten years of exile for Pasupathi, and his wife Meena. Ponnambalam learns of his daughter's love for Selvaraj and tries to kill him, with the help of his goons. Pasupathi goes to his rescue of him, and a pregnant Meena goes to Shanmugam to convey this message. While Pasupathi starts to take revenge on Ponnambalam, Manorama rushes to Shanmugam, kills her son Ponnambalam, and reveals the truth and tells that he punished his brother without committing any mistake and also told that the crimes blamed on Pasupathi were really perpetrated by Ponnambalam. Shanmugam dies upon learning that he gave a wrong judgment, and Pasupathi is shown taking his place as the new Nattamai.
